Vinyl Porn: The Flaming Lips

The Flaming Lips are well known for their colored vinyl- but this time they have really outdone them all.  For the limited EP release of their collaboration with Prefuse 73, Daniel Huffman of New Fumes, custom poured various colored vinyl pellets over a two week period at A&R in Dallas TX, to create 2000 unique splatter discs.  He uploaded 124 of the most stunning results, along with a few scrap shots on his flickr account.  Beautiful, and unspoiled by labels, these were only available through the Lips' web store ($20) and a handful at Guestroom Records- an indie store in Oklahoma City, under agreement that they only sold to walk-in customers. Very cool, but sadly they are all SOLD OUT!
Read Daniel's blog here with a few photos, including the one I swiped above.
And see his full flickr set with 124 highlights here.
