Motown's Mowest Story 1971-1973

Motown subsidiary Mowest was started when Berry Gordy Jr. decided to move Motown to L.A. in 1971. The MoWest goal was multigenre hits with less Detroit stomp and more California sunshine.  While Motown's budget was backing it's own superstar heavyweights of the era, and Berry Gordy Jr's attention had shifted to bigger Hollywood ideas in film and television, the new label sank within a few short years.

This collection compiles 16 of the best of over 40 singles released, all remastered from the original tapes.

A high gloss tip-on gatefold contains 2 standard-weight LPs in die-cut white sleeves. A folded 4 page insert contains the detailed Mowest story, photos and compilation credits. The inner gate contains photos of some of the single labels, and song credits.
