These guys have become my favorite band with this and Brothers.
Producer Danger Mouse asked the guys to write some songs for a planned Ike Turner comeback he was producing. Ike had recorded vocals for some tracks before he died (fatal overdose- big surprise) and those songs are still in the works for release. So I assume it was the songs Ike hadn't gotten to yet that the Black Keys pulled back for this album, with Danger Mouse still producing. It's their first studio produced album.
Even though this is a single 180 gram disc, this comes in a beauty of an old-school double-pocket tip-on style gatefold (my fave!), and includes a lyric sheet and full CD.
