So Sammy Hagar, former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony, and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith are buds and get together for regular jams at Sammy's Mexico club Cabo Wabo. The music and chemistry is so great people start asking when will they do a record.
So what the hell- they ring up Satriani because Sammy knows he's the best guitar player in the world, and they put together a pretty bitchin' record for 2009!
Currently discounted to $9.99, only the Best Buy vinyl version includes the bonus track Bitten By Wolves in the US. At other retailers in the US, the bonus cut was left off. UK pressings contain the bonus cut. iTunes digital version also includes the bonus.
Front and back covers are printed with a heat-sensitive coating that when touched or warmed over 84 degrees reveals the bands photos and song titles. This is a double 180 gram set in a nice gatefold with printed die-cut sleeves with gloss print effects. Three songs per side on the Best Buy edition. Also includes download code (includes bonus track) which was set to expire June 9, 2010 but is still good as of June 2011.
Their second album Chickenfoot III is set for release Sept. 2011.
