July 28, 2011

Hailing from England, Friendly Fires have been making music since they were 14, first as a post-punk band called First Day Back.  Lead singer Ed Macfarlane released some electronica during his university years, and then the band got back together pooling their shoegaze/pop influences to form Friendly Fires.  Songs from their first album have been all over British and US television, and several video games.

Catagorized as Alternative Dance, Pala is their 2nd album, released in May 2011.

This is a 160 gram set (I weighed them), in a beautiful glossy gatefold, with negative spot-gloss 'PALA' on the front.  Custom labeled black discs are in white die-cut sleeves.  Download card is included.

I thought it was an exceptionally heavy 2 record set until I opened it to find an extra disc one. Sweet!
