Miles Davis Quartet: prLP 161

Not one of the more important releases from Miles' heroine-fueled blue period of the early 50's, but this reissue on colored 10" vinyl for RSD Black Friday 2011 is my first Miles Davis record.  

I probably should have started with Kind of Blue.

This album is composed of two different sessions. The first was recorded on May 19, 1953 with personnel consisting of Miles Davis, trumpet; John Lewis, piano; Charlie Mingus, bass, piano (on SMOOCH only); Percy Heath, bass; Max Roach, drums.
