Pastor T.L. Barrett & Youth For Christ Choir: Like A Ship

When Spoonful owner Brett put this on for me, the keyboard & piano rift followed by the choir belting the opening chorus of Like A Ship (Without A Sail) crawled up my spine into full chills. I had to decide whether to get this slice of 1971 gold or get the 2010 Numero double LP comp 'Good God! Born Again Funk' which also kicks off with Pastor Barrett's Like A Ship (Without A Sail).

I went with the proper album, reissued in it's entirety by Light In The Attic, and put the Numero comp at the top of my want list.





An original pressing recently sold for $166 on eBay.  This 180 gram reissue comes in a nice tip-on gatefold with a bonus 7" featuring Jingle Bells Pts. 1 & 2. No download/CD included.

Retail CDs/Downloads feature a 3rd bonus track not on the LP, plus the Jingle Bells tracks.



Also included is Issue #2 Spring/Summer 2010 Light In The Attic 'Zine featuring their catalog of covers, many excellent articles, and record store and indie label ads.
