Ivory Coast Soul

Celebrating 50 years of Ivory Coast independence, Hot Casa & Light In The Attic release this epic set of obscure, and in some cases unreleased, Afro funk & soul fusion recorded in Abidjan from 1972 to 1982.

Compiled by Djamel Hammadi, who took many risky crate digging trips to the now former Ivory Coast capitol for this project. Each inclusion is fully licensed, as sought by DJ Julien Lebrun, however they are not sourced from original masters which were impossible to locate with recordings from such small, local, and long-gone labels.
This is a double LP gatefold with extensive liner notes filling the inside cover, detailing the artists with images of the original record covers, as well as the journey to make such a compilation.  Full liner notes here in PDF form.  Plain white sleeves, no download/CD.
